What do you think of our new makeover?
Welcome to our first newsletter of the year and as you can see, we’ve been busy giving our brand a Spring clean. In a bid to connect with more construction companies and apprentices, we have re-launched as Shared Apprenticeships South West, with a new logo, bright and colourful branding, website and marketing material.
It has been two years since we first launched and this brand reflects how much we’ve grown, alongside our desire to keep moving forward with a fresh, new approach.
The National Apprenticeship Show
We’ve also been showcasing our new look at jobs fairs across the region, including at The National Apprenticeship Show in Exeter at the beginning of May. We really enjoyed speaking with countless young people and talking to the would-be apprentices about the construction industry while showing them what a great industry we all work in.
We were also joined by some of our current apprentices who did themselves, their host contractors and us at Shared Apprenticeships proud with their keenness to champion the scheme and its benefits.
Getting out and meeting people is still a huge part of our job and one that we really enjoy. During the recent National Apprenticeship Week we took part in a number of events at schools and colleges throughout the region, meeting young people who were all keen to learn about the fantastic opportunities available through our Shared Apprenticeship scheme.
The national Open Doors event gave people a unique chance to go behind the scenes at major construction sites across the country, inspiring them to get involved with the booming sector and help shape the future of the UK.
Sites throughout our region showed the skills and experience it takes to bring major developments to life, including the Plymouth History Centre, a multi-million pound transformation of the city’s museum, art gallery and library.
And one of our very own shared apprentices, Morgan Syms is also currently working on this site. Read about how a Shared Apprenticeship has been life changing for this Devon teenager.
